Spider combines audio/video switching and processing with multiple high definition H264 streaming encoders in a compact appliance.
In many cases Spider can eliminate the need for production A/V switcher when you simply want hitless switching of cameras or other input sources to your main program feed.
Spider even gives you picture-in-picture effects, audio mixing, and more.
Four Channel Encoding
Each of the four HDMI video inputs has its own H264 HD encoder. Stream and/or record each input independently. Configure each channel for bit rates from 256 Kbps to 64 Mbps with full control of encoder parameters. Each channel has an additional encoder too, allowing you to provision a secondary stream at a downscaled resolution, perfect for mobile ABR applications. Of course, each video input can use HDMI embedded audio or analog audio.
A fifth encoder takes the input from any channel, or a mix of channels, and produces a H264 stream or file recording. Like each of the four channel encoders, the program encoder supports secondary stream too.
In addition to streaming and recording, Spider can take snapshot images of your video, ideal for video thumbnails and for security and monitoring applications.
Insert a USB drive into the Spider and you can record your video in addition to streaming it. Recordings can be in standard .mp4 format, or in several other formats.
Stream live directly to the DiscoverVideo DEVOS, DVExpress, Arcus, and other systems. DiscoverVideo server systems can record your streams too. Spider features built-in streaming to YouTube and Facebook too, and is compatible with virtually all 3rd party systems and CDNs.
Spider also supports RTSP server, MPEG2 Transport Stream Raw UDP (i.g. multicast), and HLS server.
Spider has a built-in character generator and graphic overlay capability for each channel and for the Program Output. Insert current time/date, text, or graphic images on-the-fly.
Two HDMI outputs provides the ability to monitor your program. You can even configure one of the outputs to show all of the inputs while the other serves as a program output monitor.
Select your program output from five built-in templates using either the front panel buttons or web page control, and if used with a Discover Video system the full configuration can be automatically controlled.
- Send input 1, 2, 3, or 4 to the Program Output
- Select input for full screen and input for Picture-in-Picture
- Show 4 inputs and select which one is primary
- Show 4 inputs in quad view
Continuously cycle through each of the 4 inputs automatically
The program output encoder streams and/or records your video. Choose input 1 to 4 or one of the several side by side or picture in picture templates. Elegant fade or cut between inputs and templates
In addition to physical HDMI inputs, Spider can receive live IP streams and act as a decoder. You can mix local audio/video inputs with received IP Streams and present them as switched program output.
