Decoder
|
Discover Video's Decoder displays live, full screen video from
your Internet or private network streaming video source.
The Decoder is not a "Set Top Box", which requires human
intervention to select a "channel'. Rather, the Decoder constantly
monitors for your target video and when it appears it simply
displays it via composite, S-Video, or VGA video output along with
high fidelity mono or stereo sound.
When your video starts, the Decoder can automatically output
user-defined commands via its built-in RS232 port. When your
video stops, it can automatically output other user-defined commands
via its RS-232 port. This unique feature makes it easy to conduct
unattended remote broadcasts. Simply connect the Decoder RS232
port to your video switching equipment and when you start your live
video stream the decoder will tell your equipment to switch to it
when the video starts, and switch back when you stop the stream.
Each Decoder also comes with a web control page that controls the
Decoder no matter where you are. You can even control it from
your cell phone!
- Live Video -- display your live remote video that is sent
from a Discover
Video software streaming system, a VBrick WM
Appliance, or other compatible live video source
- Web Content -- tell the decoder to display virtually any web
page from the public Internet, including YouTube video
- Message -- simply type a message in your web control page
and it will appear on the decoder...ideal for emergency
messages, "standby" information, etc.

restrictions by VBrick Systems. |
How It Works
The system is a small computer with composite,
S-Video (DIN), and VGA output. When you power it up, it
automatically checks your web control page for information about
what it should do. Normally, the web control page tells the Decoder
to "play" a certain live video feed by your entering your live video
URL. The only thing you need to set up on the Decoder is your
Discover Video web account username and password. The rest is
automatic.
Applications
- The Decoder is ideal for Cable-TV stations that wish to have live
remote video feeds sent to their station, even when no one is at the
station.
